For the midterm review, I have made many digital negatives from digital images I took, as well as some more cyanotype photograms of plant matter and my jewelry. The Van Dyke prints made from digital negatives deal with the personal connection to Mother Earth using exaggerated lighting. I love the way the brown tone mimics dirt and earth and the way the brush strokes add personal expression to my work. I also think the images are rather evocative in nature as a result of the heavy Van Dyke characteristics.
